What are/were your challenges in your study program?
One of my biggest challenges was learning Hungarian. The language is quite different from my native language, and it initially felt overwhelming. However, it was also a fascinating challenge, and I embraced it as part of my journey.
How did you overcome these challenges?
I overcame the challenge of learning Hungarian by consistently practicing every day, whether through language exchange, formal classes, or simply interacting with locals. Over time, I started feeling more confident, and I realized that persistence is key.
How would you describe ELTE in three words?
Innovative, welcoming, and inspiring.
How do you think your degree will help you in your life and career?
My degree in Buddhist Studies will allow me to deepen my understanding of different philosophies and cultures, which is crucial for fostering global dialogue and understanding. This knowledge will be valuable in both academic settings and any career that involves cross-cultural communication.
Do you have any recommendations for future students at ELTE?
My recommendation is to embrace the challenges of language and cultural differences as opportunities for personal growth. Make the most of the resources available to you, and don’t hesitate to reach out for help when needed. Most importantly, take time to explore Budapest and all it has to offer!
